Stroll & Shop at the Second Annual Annapolis Shop & Hop November 13

shop & hopAnnapolis, MD, November 13, 2008 - The newest Annapolis tradition, the Second Annual Shop & Hop, will take place in historic Downtown Annapolis, Thursday November 13th from 5-10pm.  Billed as a night to jump start the holiday festivities participating Shop & Hop stores keep their doors open late to showcase their products, offering special discounts, complimentary refreshments, gift wrap and gifts with purchase.  Aside from the free goodies and great shopping, the evening's major draw is the window decoration contest. The contest allows merchants to show their creativity from live Santa's, to sugarplum fairies, all in hopes of winning one of four ribbons presented by the judges' panel.  The most anticipated ribbon of the night is the Crowd Favorite, which is voted on by the public; ballots and maps are available at participating locations. WRNR will be broadcasting live from 7-9 pm in front of Zachary's and raffle prizes.

"It was great to see how excited everyone was about the Window Display Contest last year and the competition was fierce! I can't wait to see the new displays this year," said Candles Off Main owner and Crowd Favorite winner Sue Adams. Participants include Alpaca International, Artini- Accessories with a Twist, Bailey's Maryland Avenue, Blanca Flor, Brown Eyed Girl, Candles Off Main, diva, Hats In the Belfry, La Belle Cezanne, Lilac Bijoux, Mary & Blanche!, Middleton's Tavern, Paradigms, Paws Pet Boutique, Sitting Pretty, Star Monograms and more!

Shop & Hop is the perfect opportunity to see why Annapolis just received two major national accolades.   Main Street was recently awarded the distinction of being named one of the "10 Great Streets of 2008". The American Planning Association recognized Main Street because of its historic roots combined with fine dining, shopping and entertainment options.
