In addition to promotion and advocacy of our members, we are proud to play a part in improving the quality of life in Annapolis... we also give back to the community that supports our businesses. During the year the Association actively supports community charity projects such as community improvement projects benefiting our residential and commercial neighbors in Annapolis.

hanging flowers

For example, we support the City of Flowers campaign by managing and paying for a portion of the hanging flower baskets and pots throughout downtown Annapolis during the Spring and Summer. We developed and host the annual “TasteBuds” food and wine gathering fundraiser to raise funds for the flower program, holiday decorations (with the Annapolis Jaycees) and the enhancement of Downtown Annapolis.

Funds for the flowers and holiday decorations are raised through the TasteBuds Annapolis event and through contributions.

~~ How to contribute to the Flower Program ~~

In the fall ABA provides the Navy flags displayed downtown during Navy football weekends and events. During the holiday season, we coordinate and pay for the downtown holiday decorations and we sponsor and manage the Midnight Madness and Midnight Madness II shopping nights.

ABA established and monitors the Traffic Advisory Radio program and -Throughout the year, we promote and manage the Park & Shop program that allows participating businesses to offer discount parking for their customers. There are many options for parking in Annapolis, including metered and valet parking downtown, free evening and nighttime parking at various garages in town and at the Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (with free shuttle service to downtown). Click here to see a map and read more about parking and Park & Shop.

Members of the Annapolis Business Association are committed to creating a healthy environment and a vibrant community. Our locally owned and operated businesses are proud to introduce a reusable shopping bag that raises funds for the enhancement of the downtown area while reducing unnecessary waste -- just $20. To show our appreciation for your business, we are offering discounts and promotions every time you shop locally and use the Downtown Annapolis Bag.
